Hi, everyone! I hope you're all having a fantastic day. This morning I was reflecting on what I am grateful for, as I usually do. I started thinking back to about a year ago around this time. I wasn't in a very healthy place, then. I was a mother of 3, my youngest, Forest was about 4 months old, Olive was 2 and Jack was 9. I was struggling with one of my largest eczema flare up's I've ever had. My body was 80% covered in raw eczema patches and I was going through a bad case of vertigo. My condition was in control of all aspects of my life: mentally, physically and spiritually. When you don't have control of your own health, life can start to feel really dark. Today, I found myself thinking back, to what is so different from then and now and felt the need to share my story.

People always ask me for my secret cream or pill that I used to heal my skin.  There is no pill or cream! Honestly, I believe my healing started between my ears, in my mind. Don't write me off quite yet, I know that using your mind sounds like a crazy hippy thing to stay but hear me out. Think about it. Have you ever had a time where things had gotten so bad in your life, health-wise, relationship-wise, work-wise where you had no choice but to change? For me, that was my skin. I had no control over my health and the way I felt. Little tasks such as taking a shower was a huge ordeal. So the choice between eating bad or feeling better was easy. Every time I felt the urge to binge on a chocolate cake I reminded myself how horrible it felt when I abused my body and was covered in eczema. When you're able to create a story in your head where the outcome outweighs the short term pleasure you are capable of doing anything.

So in short, what you and I focus on, massively affects how we feel. Your feelings are what guide your decisions and beliefs. To quote Tony Robbins; "Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save their lives." The purpose of this blog post is to show everyone that your perspective, the story you're telling yourself is what controls your results. Basically, if I continue to tell myself that healing my skin was too hard and too hopeless, then I had already planned out my result. Hence I would have always chosen to act on my skin never healing. Success is 80% psychological and 20% mechanics. If you constantly focus on what you can't control, what's missing from your life, or what's happened in the past, you won't feel anything but overwhelmed, depressed and hopeless. Remember, it's our beliefs, the stories we put in our head that guide our decisions. My healing started the day my reasoning and perspective changed. Health is a choice and if I wanted it, I needed a reason bigger than my issue. Don't wait for a rock bottom to change. Know what rock bottom is and have that give you the drive to prevent it.

I believe our health is the most important topic of our life. Which is why I direct all my attention towards it too, in this blog. Physical, mental and spiritual health. Health is wealth. Today I have so much gratitude for my body, the decision to take my health into my own hands has changed my life forever. I make conscious choices when it comes to my body. I keep it moving. I connect with my food, it is what nourishes me. I love my body, it's what is going to get me to the end of my life. I, personally don't want to put anything into my body if it doesn't serve it physically, mentally or spiritually. I encourage you to take a moment to feel grateful for your body. Here is a quote I love from fullyrawkristina;

"Care for your body as if you were caring for someone you love deeply. You would hold their hearts in your hands with absolute tenderness and caution because you would never want to see them hurt, sick, or in pain. Care for yourself as if you were caring for others; forget not that YOU matter too. Your mind, body and spirit grow with each act of self-care you achieve. WE NEED MORE LOVE on this planet. It starts with YOU. Show kindness and compassion to all beings, including yourself. Eat well. Love deeply. Live fullyraw.

Small Actions = BIG CHANGE: My Top 5

It all starts with me taking my time to go for a walk in an abandoned farm yard. It's one of my favourite things to do. The stories untold when you look into an abandoned house takes your mind places. The quote small actions = BIG CHANGE can almost be said for anything and everything. You want to lose weight; small actions, such as making better food choices, or drinking more water, over time, leads to weight loss. You can apply this quote to your relationships, money, health, even world change. I live every one of my days, with this quote in mind. I've been know to live my life free-spirited and, somewhat, scattered, I'd be the first to admit it. I just can't settle for minimal change in my life. I want the BIG stuff. I want to see a world, that I'd be proud to raise my children in. It pains me to watch how we all walk through every day as if we aren't making an impact. WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN A GREAT GIFT, THE GIFT OF LIFE. We are here now. Why are we waiting for the impact of what we are doing to force us into change, or worse to leave it for our kids, and their kids to deal with. There is enough information out there to educate ourself to make small actions for the greater cause.  I don't rate my life's happiness on how much money I have, or how I compare to everyone else, or how society has taught us we should be.  Don't get me wrong I'm very proud to have been born in a time and place where technology and health care is a big part of our lives. I'm just saying we need to find our balance. A lot of what we are doing is unsustainable. Everything, including our planet, has a point of no return. Some people will argue we are there. I refuse to see it that way. I believe if we all made a choice to make SMALL TINY CHANGES, we could find that balance.  I challenge you all to look at your life and everyone you love in it. Choose something small to change for 21 days, to better you, the people you love, and this planet we call home. Start with something really small and build your way up. It takes 21 days to create a habit. It takes 21 days until something that feels hard, becomes the norm. Think about this for a moment. That is 17 changes a year. 86 in 5 years, 869 changes in 50 years. We all can make a difference, and it doesn't need to be hard or big. I created this blog for this soul reason. I hope I can inspire you guys, on a regular basis, to make little changes. I want you to be part of my change. They say the best accountability is to live your teachings. So thats what I'm doing and I hope you will all join me. Below are just a few examples of changes I have done in my life, and can maybe inspire you!

1. Dedicate an hour a day to developing and nurturing you. That can be anything from running, yoga, reading, meditating, a nature walk, whatever that may be for you. I can't say how impactful this has been for me. It's unbelievable how much clearer life gets when you learn to fully love yourself and can actually pin point what makes you happy.

2. Eat more fruits and veggies!!! Preferably from Local farmers. Your body will love you for it. There isn't anything your body wants more, listen to it, connect with the food your eating!

3. Eat less meat! This is a touchy subject for many. I personally have chosen to go vegan its a personal choice and I have no judgment on those who choose to eat meat. My husband still does. I just feel there are many issues surrounding this topic and people should educate themselves.See the entire picture not just the package at your grocery store. I believe that simply cutting down on the amount of meat you eat, and how often you eat meat, is a big step in the right direction.

4. Live more sustainably! There are many little things  that you can do. Use reusable glass containers instead of plastic disposable ones. Reusable shopping bags. Compost. Shop at your local farmers markets. Eat more organic. Ride a bike to work. Find things that work for you and that you're passionate about.

5. Spend time with the people who love you the most! This one speaks for itself. Fully engage with each other and find true gratitude for the people in your life. Appreciate and love them fully. Acknowledge the presence they have in your life, one day you, or they, will be gone so cherish the moments you have together today...right now!!
