Do ever feel that time moves too fast? That days, weeks, even years are slipping away? Today, the world moves so darn fast that it is literally training us to live in a constant state of dissatisfaction. We are always reaching for the next best thing instead of what's right in front of us. I personally am guilty of this at times. I live my life trying my best to always stay as present as possible, but even I catch myself in these states, not purposefully.

Jason and I have chatted about our life and where we are versus where we expected to be. I think since becoming a parent and watching our kids grow the concept of how fast time seems to go by hits you like a ton of bricks. Honestly, it seems like ever time I look down at them they have truly grown an inch, learned a new crazy concept or developed a little more personality. Which in turn makes me personally reflect on myself and how far I have come. I've realized lately that the concept of time can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Time, on a practical level was created so that we could plan our lives and our days. Time has made it so that life can be more efficient, convenient and accurate. But time, on a psycological level can be our worst enemy. This is when the future takes over your mind and you're in a constant state of living in your head. You enjoy very little and find it nearly impossible to feel gratitude for your life now! You find yourself saying the phrase... "When this happens..... Then I can be happy...Then life will be easier...Then life will be more enjoyable".

After speaking to Jason I realized that he was finding it a tough to stay present for this exact reason. I felt that getting him a physical form of time would help remind him that time is precious. I thought a watch would be the perfect fit. I told him that every time he looks at his watch I want him to out of his head and back into the "now." I know that a watch seems kind of like a superficial thing, but it has truly helped my hubby to be more aware of time and how precious it really is. Jason fell in love with his watch at first site, which worked out awesome. Every time he looks at his watch he tells me its has had such a positive influence on his life.

How rare it is to see photos of my entire family pod in one frame. I can't thank you enough Tammy Hanratty for capturing such candid photos of my crew, I will be forever grateful. These photographs aren't only absolutely stunning, they literally force time to stop when I look at them. The beauty in having photos done is that they bring me back to that timeframe in my life and give me a chance to reflect and relive the gratitude I felt that day.

As I look at these photos in disbelief of where my life has brought me, I can't help but feel unbelievable gratitude. I remember as a little girl picturing what my life would look like, how it would feel, where I would be and never did I see it turning out the way it has. So that got me thinking about all the lessons life has taught me and what I have learned to date. Below are just a few I think about on a daily basis, and I hope through sharing it can help your life just as much as it has helped mine .

1. Define exactly what your purpose in life is. If you don't have a purpose or a definite goal, you can't make decisions in the best interest of your life. Know you have full control of your life and only you decide where it will go.

2. Health is wealth. No person with ill health will reap the benefits of the seeds sowed.

3. You are the most important person in your life. Be compassionate with yourself, take good care of yourself, work harder on yourself more than anything else.

4. Good things come to good people. If you be the person that adds value to others lives you will never have anything to worry about. Life will be anything and everything you want it to be and more.

5. There is a positive in every negative, you just need to choose to see it. Step back take a breath, find something to feel grateful for and have faith.

6. Life is in the journey and when you learn to love the journey you will love life.

7. Having gratitude changes your reality and how you experience your life. Find 3 things EVERY day to feel grateful for.

8. All stress comes from resisting the present moment. Why would you think about something that hasn't happened or something that already has? The only thing we know for certain is the present. Life is happening now appreciate all its worth.

9.  Every person is justified for their feelings, whether you agree or not.

10. The law of attraction is a law. What you think about comes about, good and bad.

11. Don't get stuck in unhappiness and get lost in your thoughts. Calm the mind regularly.

12. How you do what you do is more important than what you do.

13. No matter what you are going through, large tasks will always feel overwhelming. Persistent tiny changes always result in big change. Slow and steady wins the race right. ;)

14. Learn from mistakes but realize that they don't need to be your mistakes. There is tons of human experience and knowledge everywhere, read, learn and listen. Get your mind prepared, do what's difficult when it's easy. Plan for the best, but prepare for the worst.

15. Procrastination and lack of persistence almost always end's with failure. Stop waiting for the "time to be right", it will never come. You have one shot at life so go for it. Do something! Failure cannot cope with persistence.

16. "Respect is earned. Honesty is appreciated. Trust in gained. Loyalty is returned."

17. Ask the right questions.

18. Get outside. Nature heals.

19. Know which battles need to be fought and which don’t. Forgiveness will do you better than it will do them.

20.  Not getting what we want can be exactly what we need. Have faith that life always turns out and that every less-than-perfect situation/circumstance actually has a purpose. A new lesson to be learned!

What are some of the life lessons you have learned over the years? How did they impact your life and how did it influence the way you live now? I would love to hear your experiences in the comments below.
